Your Heart Isn’t Valiant Enough

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a new title brought to us from Ubisoft and we got a new, tear-jerking trailer for it today at Ubisoft’s E3 Press Conference. Between the sad dog whimpers and the deep poem which narrates the trailer, it’s hard to feel upbeat after watching it. If you don’t get caught at least a little bit of what they call “the feels” you don’t have a heart.

Valiant Hearts takes place during World War I and follows the story of a dog, and his four allies and dearest friends. The story of Valiant Hearts is one that is pieced together with the inspiration of letters sent by soldiers in the midst of the conflict.

Though the trailer doesn’t tell us much about the gameplay of Valiant Hearts, it does a wonderful job of setting the somber tone of the game.

My Opinion:

Being completely honest, I can say that I’m not all that excited for Valiant Hearts. It’s not because I don’t think it’ll be a good title–definitely not that. I’ve just never been all that interested in modern or past military/war stories. However, I’ll probably end up giving it a try at some point. I love heartful trailers and the graphics of Valiant Hearts are quite charming. I just have to admit, my body isn’t ready for the presumably sad feelings that Valiant Hearts will likely cultivate.
