Calling all collectors, calling all collectors! Nintendo made a couple of new announcements about upcoming products and partnerships, and we are here to keep you in the know.
Yoshi New Island Edition 3DS XL

With the upcoming launch of Yoshi’s New Island, Nintendo has announced a special Yoshi-themed 3DS XL. The new edition of the best-selling system will be launching alongside the new title, yet sold separately.
The lime green system features an image of Yoshi on the front, as well as a series of cute Yoshi eggs on the back. The price is equal to the MSRP of the standard 3DS XL.

Alongside a My Little Pony-opoly, American game maker, USAopoly, has announced a new line of Nintendo products.
The Zelda game will be titled Monopoly: The Legend of Zelda.
The Pokemon game will be titled Monopoly: Pokémon. The game will be focusing on the original (Kanto) region. The above pictured game is not connected with the USAopoly version of the game.
Pokémon X & Y 3DS/2DS Promotion

Good news to Club Nintendo members! If you are just joining the 3DS family this month, Nintendo is giving you a free copy of Pokémon X or Y!
Of course, there is a small catch. An unregistered system must be registered to the player’s Club Nintendo account before the end of March, along with one of the qualifying games.
Qualifying games include Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins, and Yoshi’s New Island. So, you know… the essentials!
CONNECT 4: Super Mario
Release Date: Spring 2014
Following the monopoly announcements, USAopoly announced a Mario and Luigi themed CONNECT 4 game. The tabletop game is a classic, for kids older than 5. The chips themselves will feature Mario or Luigi’s faces.
It’s always great news as a collector of video game memorabilia when new toys and promotions hit the market. While I’m not the largest fan of Monopoly, my brother sure as hell is, and I would be surprised if these games aren’t added to his ever growing catalogue.
