Nintendo 2DS Getting a Price Cut

Nintendo is dropping the price of the 2DS in North America.

Going into effect on August 30th, the price will be dropped from $129.99 to $99.99. The 2DS is currently bundled with a free digital copy of Mario Kart 7 and despite the price cut, the game will remain included.

“The new lower-priced hardware combined with the strong lineup of new games launching this year and arguably the best library of games in this generation makes it a great time to be a Nintendo fan,” Nintendo marketing executive Scott Moffitt said in a statement.

My Opinion:

The 2DS was always an interesting alternative to the 3DS to me, as it actually looks more comfortable to hold than my 3DS XL. However, I don’t know anyone who owns one so I wonder how well it actually sells. Maybe not too well if that’s what this price drop is saying.

  1. I actually bought a 2ds last week form walmart. I thought it was already 99.99. I got the red one with mario kart 7. I really like it. It reminds me of my old gameboy. I prefer the 2ds to 3ds. It plays good with the games i have. Pokemon x, MK7, Retro City Rampage and Fantasy life. I tried the Monster hunter 4 demo but the camera felt weird. Its hard to hold the stylus and play games, but my finger works with the touchpad too.
