Assassin’s Creed Franchise reaches 100 Million copies sold

Ubisoft has sold more than 100 million Assassin’s Creed games since the franchise debuted in 2007.

“Creating an Assassin’s Creed game is no easy task. It takes the creativity and hard work of many people in many different Ubisoft studios all over the world,” says Martin Schelling, senior producer. “To have this franchise join the ranks of those that have reached more than 100m sold is a testament to the teams that have taken on that challenge over the years.”

Etienne Allonier, brand director for Assassin’s Creed added that this is a “huge milestone” for the franchise, and that having looked at future games in the series he thinks newcomers and fans alike will be excited for what is in store for the future.

In April 2014, Assassin’s Creed series sales stood at 73 million. Ubisoft did not provide any specifics regarding sales by title.

My Opinion:

Personally I would love to see the ranking of which games sold best, but alas that information will never come. A 27 million jump in a little over two years though is quite impressive, and shows that the franchise still has legs.
