Pokemon Company essentially confirms Nintendo NX is a hybrid device

The Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara has lent credence to the long-running rumor that Nintendo’s NX console is a console/handheld hybrid.

Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, Ishihara not only commented on the console but also pledged that his company will make games for it. “The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a handheld device,” he said. “We will make games for the NX.”

When pressed, the executive denied to confirm if the The Pokemon Company will have a NX game for the system’s launch in March. As you may remember, a previous report claimed there would be new Pokémon, Mario, and Zelda games out for the console within six months of its launch.

WSJ are also claiming analysts have told it that an official reveal for the NX could happen in early October.

With a release of March, it appears Nintendo is running out of a window to reveal whatever this thing is — but it’s 2016 Nintendo, and you can never have a good pulse on 2016 Nintendo.

My Opinion:

They should just call the console the NX at this point. Everyone has known it for the NX — for so long — you might as well just roll with it. But nope it will probably be called something weird..Nintendo-type weird.
