Sony has revealed today that the new slim model of the PlayStation Vita will indeed launch in North America this spring. Additionally, the PlayStation Vita version of the 2012 massive hit Borderlands 2 will launch alongside the redesigned Vita.

Nothing else is known about the North American launch as of now, there is no release date or pricing information available. Though Sony did show off the Borderlands 2 Vita bundle box. We assume that the Vita slim will be available on it’s own.

The Vita slim launched in Japan late last year, and was announced for the UK last month. The original model of the Vita has been available since late 2011.

My Opinion

I assumed that the Vita slim would come to North American territories from the word go. That’s why I bought the original Vita before it got here and started to phase out the original model, being that the original has an OLED screen, and the remodel has an LCD screen.
