Middle Of Nowhere Gaming (MONG for short) is a video game website dedicated to bringing the most important video game related news and content to our viewers.

We provide up-to-date news as it happens, previews for upcoming games, reviews for new releases, features about popular games, and editorials about topical issues in the industry.

History

Middle Of Nowhere Gaming was founded on September 16, 2013 by Courtney Osborn. The original intent of MONG was to only be a local video game podcast located out of The University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. The name “Middle Of Nowhere Gaming” is based on this location because Kansas is often thought of as being in the “middle of nowhere”. It wasn’t long after founding the website/podcast that the purpose began to change into something much larger.

During October 2013, Middle Of Nowhere Gaming transitioned from being just a podcast to a website that provided any and all types of video game content. Since then, the website has grown from publishing an average of 3 stories a week to publishing between 50 and 100 each and every week. The staff has grown from only 3 located in Lawrence, KS writers to over 25 writers from all over the the world. Our average unique visitors has risen from 10 to over 1,000 every day.

Goals

Our goal is to continue growing as a website by producing more quality content and expanding into new content areas when possible. We have no intention of slowing down.

We understand that there are thousands of websites out there that produce the same content. The difference between us and them is that we want to be personable with every one of our viewers. We include a personal opinion at the end of every single news story so that our viewers can get to know each of us better by learning how we feel the topics. We interact with viewers by responding to every single comment on every one of our social media profiles. We invite fans to join us on our podcasts, livestreams, and online gaming events.

We want to be a website that is considered one of the best at providing content our viewers enjoy, while also getting to know each and every one of them on a more personal level.
