PS4 Survey Could Lead to Changes

A user survey sent out to PlayStation 4 users could lead to changes to the PlayStation Network, like cross-console chat, ability to change PSN names, and advanced matchmaking.

The survey consists of features that could come in a future PlayStation update. These include:

  • A reputation system, similar to Xbox Live’s future system, based on user feedback

  • An enhanced matchmaking system, allowing players to be matched based on skill level at a game

  • The ability to chat with PlayStation users of other console, like a PS4 user chatting with a Vita user, for example

  • The ability to change the PlayStation username

  • The ability to change your online status to invisible or offline when playing

  • The ability to chat with more than 8 people at a time

  • Message synching among all PlayStation platforms

  • Notifications when friends come online

While it is uncertain when these changes would take place if at all, it is likely that the Sony will take those ideas into account when making updates to the PS4.

My Opinion

The ability to change PlayStation IDs is something fans have been demanding for a long time. While I am still satisfied with mine, LittleBigHamm, others might not, like Long_Dong_420, for example. Some of these other possible changes, like better matchmaking and chat, would also be appreciated and could help people who are transitioning from the Xbox 360 to the PS4.
