Tales of Hearts for the PS Vita showed up on GameStop’s website over the weekend. The strange part about it is that it was listed as a “GameStop Exclusive” and has since been taken off the website.
I checked the website this morning and found the game just fine, so it has only been in the past few hours that it has been taken down.
According to NeoGAF, Tales of Hearts is also listed in GameStop’s upcoming release database. (See Picture Below)
Tales of Hearts was originally a Nintendo DS game before seeing a rerelease in 2012 for the PS Vita as Tales of Hearts R. If GameStop’s website is to be believed, it will most likely be Tales of Hearts R that is coming west. More than likely someone hit the GO button a little too soon on publishing the game on GameStop’s website.
My Opinion:
I have been waiting for the Tales games on Vita to come west for the last few years now, so this story has me SUPER excited. What is extremely strange about all of this is the fact that the game was listed as a “GameStop Exclusive”. What exactly could that mean? Does it mean that it will only be released as a download instead of having a retail version? Who knows? Honestly it would hurt Bandai Namco and the Tales series to only have it available through one retailer. Let’s hope that the GameStop Exclusive was referring to the game including a special level or some kind of DLC.

I just recently started playing the Tales games and I must say, the Vita seem to be perfect for a Tales game. I can’t wait to get it.

The Tales series is my favorite =) and yes, they would be perfect for the Vita. Tales of Hearts R and Tales of Innocence are currently on Vita in Japan.

I’m really excited to play them. I started playing Tale of the Abyss and Xillia after Final Fantasy XIII came out. I wasn’t a big fan of it and needed something fill that void lol
