As of yesterday, Shenmue III is the highest funded video game Kickstarter.

Shenmue III finished its crazy successful Kickstarter campaign with $6.3 million. When the game’s Kickstarter launched, it hit the $2 million goal in mere hours. Now, it has surpassed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s $5.5 million by over half a million dollars.

Shenmue III is expected to release sometime in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PC. So far, it seems the game will be digital only, while physical copies will be available for backers that supported the game at the $60 level.

My Opinion:

It is cool seeing this happen; only a few months ago, Shenmue III was a distant dream and now it has made video game history.
