“PS4 Can Do 1080p at 60FPS With Room to Spare” Says Kojima

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia released another interview today of the “conversations with creators” series, starring legendary Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Director Hideo Kojima. The interview focused on the PS4 and on the game itself, and the full text was published by Famitsu.

Kojima had this to say about the PlayStation 4:

“I think, between the home consoles available in the domestic market, the PS4 is the best. It’s also excellent for graphics, being able to render 1080p at 60fps with room to spare. Since it does it a little better than other hardware, the image quality of the PS4 is the most beautiful. It’s the closest to the photorealistic quality we are aiming at.”

Also in the interview, Kojima talked about numerous other things, including that even though it was difficult to develop for the PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, and certainly the Playstation 3, he enjoyed the challenge. He also spoke about how he set out to make MGS:V photo realistic, like looking at a genuine picture.

My Opinion

I have my doubts that the machine really can do 1080p at 60FPS, at least with room to spare as Kojima says, but I certainly hope that he is right. And of course I agree that the PS4 is the most powerful hardware available, and offers the best image quality, at least of the three consoles available at the moment.
