10 moments in video game history that will forever stand the test of time.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – Climbing the Train
I’m sure I’m not alone on this one. Naughty Dog opened Uncharted 2 with an iconic sequence of Drake sitting wounded in a train that is seconds away from falling off a cliff side. Drake climbs as the train slowly slides over the edge, ending with one final jump that saves him from certain death.
Fallout 3 – Leaving Vault 101
After spending my entire life from birth in Vault 101, I’ll never forget that moment when the door finally came open, and I walked out into the wasteland that was Fallout 3.
Resident Evil 4 – Defeating “It”
“It” was one of the most terrifying and exhilarating bosses I’ve ever fought in my 16 years of gaming. As you run from corridor to corridor, this viscous monster lurks around each corner and hides in the rafters above, making you feel uneasy about your every move. If that isn’t enough, you also have a time limit that when reached zero, you fall to your death.
Mass Effect 3 – Final Trip to Earth
After hours of preparation, the time finally came to end everything. The Normandy charges into waves of enemy ships barely making it out alive, with a cinematic sequence that could have been mistaken for one of Hollywood’s latest blockbusters.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception – Walking the Desert
Naughty Dog drops you in the middle of a desert. Isolated, you control Drake as he walks a gorgeous sandy wasteland. It looks absolutely astonishing, but makes you feel hopeless, lost, and thirsty.

Journey – The Final Climb
Playing through Journey seems like it varies from person to person. The entire game is a fascinating experience. The final climb up the last mountain to me, was flawless. With beautiful, vibrant colors and heart pounding, orchestrated music, it was invigorating. I have no shame to say it put tears in my eyes.

Pokemon – Choosing your starting Pokémon
This one surely speaks for Itself. There is no bond like there is with your first Pokémon. Choosing one of the three starting Pokémon is a moment in many gamers’ lives that will never be forgotten. Charmander, I choose you!

The Walking Dead: The Game – Talking to Clem at the End (Potential Spoilers)
After 4 episodes of protecting young Clementine, Lee was bitten at the end of episode 4, forcing him to say his goodbyes at the end of episode 5. This is a moment in gaming history that touched many people. Having to tell a little girl where to go next in a world where there is little to no hope. Undeniably one of the most unforgettable experiences.

Alan Wake – Riding the Ferry into Bright Falls
Riding the ferry into Bright Falls you could sense that something wasn’t right, making you feel very on edge. The environment was stunning and left you in a daze. But nothing could save you from the inevitable doom that awaited you.

The Last of Us – The End (No Spoilers)
It may seem like a trend, yet another Naughty Dog game has made its way to my list. Many have bashed Naughty Dog for the bold decisions they made to close TLOU, although, the final sequence completely resonated with me. I won’t go into details for the sake of spoilers. If you haven’t played TLOU yet, you should really pick this game up.

While I agree these are some poignant moments, I feel like this list should be dated, as in Favorite moments of 2014 or 2013. Personally, my most epic moment in gaming was being released into the community of Ultima Online in 1998. Never again has a game given players that much freedom.

Oh, all the memories… great list. I spent so much time staring at the screen trying to choose which Pokemon to start with, even after thinking about which Pokemon to start with all day at school. Never failed.
A moment that stands out for me is choosing the ending for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The entire game built expertly to that moment and put so much weight on the decision. Adam’s final monologue is so socially aware and just… incredible.

Good choices. You can never have too much Naughty Dog in a list. I’d agree on the end of TLOU though for Uncharted I’d go with 2’s collapsing building probably. And hey let’s not forget good old Jak and Daxter! I’d throw the reveal of the precursors in there.

Some good moments listed here. I haven’t played some of these games so I can’t really comment on em, but the first time I picked my starter Pokemon was truly magical.
One gaming moment that really sticks out with me is climbing the giant skull-fortress in Darksiders 2. It’s not every day you see a castle in the shape of a skull flying through the air because it’s being pulled by two giant dragons. That was just…well, awesome.
