Mobster’s Daughter Sues Rockstar for $40 mil

The daughter of a mobster has filed a lawsuit against Grand Theft Auto V’s creators for using her likeness in the game without her permission.

Karen Gravano, daughter of Salvatore Gravano, has sued Rockstar Games for $40 million dollars because she believes that her image and experiences were used in one of Grand Theft Auto V’s side missions.

According to The New York Daily News, Gravano, who starred in the first three seasons of VH1’s reality show Mob Wives, claims her story to be unique and hers to tell, with the character in question being Antonia Bottino.

In the game, Antonia is rescued from being buried alive, after which she tells about how her father, Sammy Bottino, was accused of murder and her family had to move around from safe house to safe house in small towns so that they could not be found.

Gravano, who is planning to release a second book about her life, said that GTA V used her likeness without her consent and, if Rockstar had approached her, she would have easily let them use it and any legal action would have been gone.

Rockstar has refused to comment on any story involving legal actions.

My Opinion

Another day, another lawsuit against GTA. Although this may be making a mountain out of an anthill at this point, Rockstar could probably afford the $40 million to pay off Ms. Gravano, seeing how they made $1 billion in three days. You can’t make that much without making some people mad. Rockstar and the GTA franchise shouldn’t be worried about this, but they need to add this one to the long list of lawsuits they have acquired.
