It has been confirmed that the upcoming Xbox One exclusive Titanfall will not have a season pass, or any type of split screen multiplayer.
This is surprising news in regard to the season pass, as they have become a staple of first-person shooters over the past few years, and have even managed to make their way over to other games such as Assassin’s Creed III & IV. This is even stranger considering that the game is a multiplayer only shooter.
Though the other bit of news is not quite as shocking. The game not including split screen multiplayer of any kind is not surprising in the least as local multiplayer has been dying a slow, but steady death since the beginning of the seventh generation of consoles.
Titanfall will launch on the Xbox One and PC on March 11th, while the Xbox 360 version will launch on March 23rd.
My Opinion
The first bit surprised me, most shooters these days that have multiplayer have a season pass, and it seemed like a perfect fit for Titanfall. Though I have no real opinion on it, as I am not going to be playing Titanfall. As for the second part, it was basically expected, local multiplayer is, unfortunately, dead.
