Those who have applied to get into the PlayStation Now beta but did not receive an invitation the first time around may have another shot at getting into the closed beta.
A second wave of invites hit more applicants to join the closed beta of PlayStation’s game streaming service. It was first announced in January of this year and expected to release in the summer. The first wave of invites hit consumers on January 28, and many were passed over.
Using Gaikai, this service is supposed to stream PS3, PS2, and PSX games from the PlayStation Network to the PS4 and PS Vita, as well as televisions and smartphones using a DualShock 3. The service has been displayed for God of War: Ascension and The Last of Us, and uses either a subscription service or a rental fee per game when it releases
My Opinion
Once I heard this news, I immediately checked my email, only for it not to appear. Again. However, this could mean that it the service is moving on to the beta part two. Hopefully there will be another short open beta or closed beta that I am accepted into. If they decide that this is the last of the invitations that they are going to send, then it seems like PS Now will make its launch in the summer with an announcement date hopefully coming at E3.
