Guerilla Cambridge recently released Botzone for Killzone: Mercenary, which is a way to play multiplayer maps offline.
According to the PlayStation Blog, you can use up to 7 AI controlled bots on any of the 8 available maps. This could be useful in getting multiplayer trophies. Botzone will be available in the Mercenary and Guerilla Warfare modes, and players will be able to control how many teammates and bots are on the field at a time. The bots will take advantage of all of the loadouts Mercenary has to offer, as well as keep players on their toes with all of the side objections out there.
This update will only be 23 MB, bringing the total downloaded patch size to 549MB. The update is currently available on the PlayStation Store as well as a training mode, which can be purchased.
My Opinion
I wish more games would adopt this, especially for those trophy hunters. Getting multiplayer trophies for some games is extremely hard to do, especially online. Therefore, I would love to see more game have a bot-mode which could be used as a training ground for new players, a place for veterans to hone their skills, and a place for anyone to get their trophies.
