The Last of Us Remastered Release Date Leaked

The Last of Us: Remastered was revealed last week to be coming out this summer. However, now three retailers have all listed the same exact release date for it.

GameFly, Best Buy, and Target all have the game listed as having a June 20, 2014 release date. This is not 100% consistent, though, as other retailers such as GameStop and Amazon have it listed for December 31, 2014.

We already know that the December date is a placeholder date since it is scheduled for this summer. However we cannot be sure whether or not the other three are placeholder dates as well. It seems odd that three different major retailers would all have the same date in the middle of June. If it does end up being the release date, it will be almost exactly a year after the original was released on the PlayStation 3 last year.

My Opinion:

I actually said last week when speaking to a friend that I thought it would be released around the middle of June because it would be a year after the original was released. I hope this ends up being true because I can’t wait to get my hands on the even prettier version of my favorite game! I find it interesting that technically, if it does release on June 20th, that will actually be the day BEFORE summer actually starts.
