News today shed light on the recent slip-up by the Chilean retailer Zmart Games. Said slip-up lends more credibility to the likelihood that a remastered versionof the Mass Effect Trilogy for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is in the works.
Although the news has not been confirmed by the folks over at BioWare, this listing (along with the tweets from last month by BioWare Edmonton and Montreal’s General Manager, Aaryn Flynn) make things look more and more likely. With a tweet from such a high-ranking BioWare employee, it really adds believability to this rumor.
Considering the frequency at which remakes are being released these days, it’s entirely possible that all of this mounting evidence has some truth to it. No one should worry, by the way; BioWare is still hard at work on the next title in the Mass Effect series.
My Opinion:
This is honestly great news. As a big fan of the Mass Effect series, I don’t mind seeing this particular remake happen. Not only is it going to have updated graphics, but it will give people the chance to play the series over on the current gen systems. That means that you’ll be able to get your choices and your personal Shepard back, which will come into play if choices carry over. The story may not be focused on Shepard, but I find it hard to believe that none of your former playthroughs would matter at all.
