It has been revealed today that the PlayStation Vita port of Borderlands 2 will only be able to handle two players at a time.
Along with the release date, Gearbox President Randy Pitchford stated via the PlayStation Blog that even though the game will run at a smooth 30 frames per second, it would only be able to handle two players in cooperative campaigns.
This comes on the heels of news that the Vita version of Borderlands 2 will have lower graphical capabilities, disappearing enemies, and smaller enemy battles.
My Opinion
This doesn’t surprise me at all. The game has already been cutting corners to make it to the Vita, and this is just another corner that needed to be cut. Personally, I don’t play Borderlands 2 with friends because I find it to be a great single-player experience without wondering who I am supposed to be shooting at. It will be interesting to see how this game with fare on the Vita, and I will certainly be picking this game up sometime in the future.
