Nintendo revealed today via Twitter and press release that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are being developed for the Nintendo 3DS.
The trailer (as seen on Polygon) reveals very little besides the tentative box art. We do know that they are remakes of the similarly titled Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire Game Boy Advance games from 2003. However, E3 is right around the corner, so we’re bound to learn more then.
The games will launch worldwide this November.
My Opinion:
Unsurprised, but excited. This was the next logical step after the remakes of Pokémon Red/Blue and Pokémon Gold/Silver. It’s also a smart move by Nintendo to dull the pain of their recent, somewhat disappointing financial results with exciting game news. Yet another reason to be excited about E3!
