Anyone who has been excitedly waiting for the PlayStation Now beta to reach the PS4 can finally take a sigh of relief. It has been announced that the private beta for Sony’s video game streaming service will be hitting the PS4 come tomorrow (May 20th).

If you have already registered for the PlayStation 4 beta program, Sony suggests that you keep an eye on your email inbox for the voucher to join in on the fun. However, even if you did not have a chance to sign-up, there’s no reason to lament as Sony is still taking applications for both the PS4 and PS3 PlayStation Now betas. If you want to rectify the mistake of not signing up, take a moment to do so here.

According to Sony they’re seeing rather nice numbers with, “50,000 gameplay hours discovering new games, rediscovering favorites, and racking up Trophies.” With the PS3 beta of PlayStation Now having been out for a while (January), people have been able to test out the system, and it sounds like it’s working. PlayStation Now isn’t lacking in good games either, with newer titles for the PlayStation 3, as well as good oldies from the PS1 and PS2, it sounds like the library for PS Now is going to be quite extensive.

My Opinion:

This is wonderful news. As someone who signed up for the beta, and missed a lot of the grade A PS3 titles, I’m happy that things seem to be going swimmingly for PlayStation Now. I can’t wait to try it out as I would definitely love to play titles like Digital Devil Saga, the Uncharted series, and more titles that I missed on my PS4. I am a bit surprised that it took Sony 4 months or so to get the beta to the PS4 as well. I don’t think that says anything negative about the service, I’m just wondering why it took so long. This summer is actually looking like it will be a fun one and full of games.
