Asus Unviels Two Steam Machines

Alas, the Steam Machine is not dead. Asus has pulled the curtain on two new machines that will be running Steam’s OS and will be released during the third quarter of 2015.

First, the Asus ROG GR8 is a small machine in size, but it has an Intel Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 750Ti graphics card. It is capable of 4K output and Miracast support, a bluetooth-like broadcast service.

The larger Asus ROG G20 has a Haswell Core i7 processor and has a GeForce GTX 780  graphic card. The G20 will also have no exhaust ports but instead uses a hidden air tunnel to keep the unit cool.

Both the GR8 and G20 are said to be packaged with the steam controller. Prices for both machines are yet to be announced.

My Opinion:

Great news, but I wish that more concise info was known about these Steam Machines. I know that I might get the Alienware Steam Machine when it comes out, but with many Steam Machines are coming out, it makes me wish for a simple 2 to 3 console generation. Too many choices confuse me and can confuse other ordinary consumers. Are you going to pick up a Steam Machine?
