Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Release Date Announced

October is a busy month for gaming and it has just gotten busier — Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is being released October 14th in North America and October 17th worldwide.

Gearbox took to their official blog to make the announcement and gave solid details on both the release date and pre-order bonuses. Well… not before they dropped this video:

Pre-ordering the game will nab you the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit — a single player add-on that will give some minor gameplay and major loot.

Shock Drop Slaughter Pit Borderlands Pre-Sequel

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be set between the events of Borderlands and Borderlands 2. In the campaign, players will watch the rise of Handsome Jack until he becomes that manic antagonist we know and love from Borderlands 2.  Players can go solo or with three buddies, playing as Wilhelm, Nisha, Athena, or as a gun-slinging Claptrap.

Keep your last generation consoles handy until October; Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will only be making its way to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

My Opinion:

Argyle weapons? Moon dancing? This was the kind of announcement I would expect from Gearbox — something ridiculous and bombastic. Borderlands is still one of my favorite series and this game will be no exception. My wallet on the other hand? It is already crying.
