Super Smash Bros. New Characters, Modes, and Details

Sakurai started Nintendo E3’s Digital Event off with a bang, catering to a lot of player’s wishes. Specifically Reggie and Iwata are now playable characters in Super Smash Bros..

Okay, that post was a little disingenuous. What exactly was announced was customizable Mii characters in a new creation mode: Mii Fighter. These Miis will come in three fighting forms: Brawler, Gunner, or Sword Fighter.

Additionally, the Miis will have customizable abilities–36 specifically.

Not only were Miis announced, but Paluenta from the Kid Icarus series was announced as another playable character.

Also as a first to Super Smash Bros. series will be the inclusion of Nintendo’s NFC program — Amiibo. Very few details were given to date, but they will be elaborated on more in an incoming conference.

Finally, Sakurai made it a point to show off the plethora of modes for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS. While there were too many modes to get a full grasp, some series classics include Homerun Derby and Trophies.
