Masahiro Sakurai, Director for the new Super Smash Bros. games, has revealed a new mode called Trophy Rush.
On the Super Smash Bros. Miiverse community site, Sakurai teased a single image of the new mode with the following description:
“Pic of the day. Here’s a new mini-game that’s quite a bit different from Coin Launcher in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It’s called Trophy Rush! The details…will be kept secret for now.”
Whether this mini-game will be featured on the 3DS or Wii U version (or both) has not been revealed. There is a brief glimpse of this mode, however, in the Nintendo Digital Event from E3, as seen here. It appears that the objective will be to smash the objects as they fall, revealing trophies and/or other items. Or perhaps not. We may never know for sure.
Just kidding. We’ll know. Hopefully soon.
My Opinion:
Trophy Rush looks awesome! I’m amazed that after months of revealing new information almost daily, Sakurai can still surprise us with new things. If I had a time machine, I’d be hard-pressed not to travel to October 3rd to buy this game.
