It’s been a while since we’ve had any Tales of Zestiria news, so I have a bunch of updates for you here.
A new character named Dezel was revealed for Tales of Zestiria last month. He uses a pendulum as a weapon and is a wind-elemental member of the Heavenly tribe.
Hideo Baba, director of the Tales series, revealed a new trailer last month at the annual Tales Festival. The trailer shows off a new character, Zabida, who is described as being mysterious and hot-headed and is a wind-elemental member of the Heavenly Tribe. The trailer also shows off the newly revealed fusion system that lets Slay combine with other members of the Heavenly Tribe. One final thing worth noting about the trailer is that it shows that skits in Tales of Zestiria will show full-body art, just like Tales of Graces F.

Today, Bandai Namco released a series of screenshots that show off some of the characters and locations shown in the trailer.
Tales of Zestiria is scheduled for a worldwide release exclusively on PlayStation 3 in 2015.

My Opinion:
I’m not sure how I feel about the new characters yet, though they do seem to fit the stereotypical JRPG archetypes. They will probably end up being fine. However, I REALLY like the character fusion ability. I think that will add an awesome new aspect to the already incredibly deep Tales battle system. I cannot wait!
