It has been reported by media news group Cinema Blend that Crytek UK’s upcoming open world, first person shooter Homefront: The Revolution will be locked at 30 frames-per-second (fps) on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
According to Crytek UK producer David Stenton, the game will not be running at 60fps but rather 30fps on next generation consoles, “due to the open world nature of the game, 60fps was simply not possible, but could have been possible if it was developed as a more linear experience”
Homefront: The Revolution is due for a release in 2015.
My Opinion:
It has already been reported that Crytek UK is having financial trouble. Whether this has affected the game’s development is still unknown but I hope it hasn’t. I enjoyed the first Homefront and I was really looking forward to the sequel but being locked at 30fps is quite the disappointment.
