MICROSOFT ANNOUNCES KINECT 2 PRICE FOR PC

Microsoft recently announced that Kinect 2 will cost $199/£159.

While the Xbox One has primarily used Kinect 2 for gaming, the Kinect 2’s launch on the PC will focus more on applications. The device is packed without software, which is licensed separately.

Kinect 2 will receive a standalone release on July 15, and is currently available for preorder on the Microsoft Store.

My Opinion:

I’ve never been a die-hard Xbox fan, having only played the Xbox 360 occasionally with my brother, so having the Kinect 2 available for the PC will be an interesting experience. It’s not something I would rush out of my home and  purchase right away, but it might make access to applications (and continued couch potatoing) more convenient. Hopefully, Aaron Paul’s commercial doesn’t turn on my PC while it’s on my TV.

  1. I think that the Kinect 2 would work better on PC. Once they perfect voice recognition, we’ll be only a few steps away from the hands-free desktop of the future.
