Gearbox is adding new heads and skins into Borderlands 2 based around the cast of the upcoming release, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. According to the announcement, these additions are available now as rare loot drops in the game, but Gearbox also plans to release them one at a time over the next few weeks through their SHiFT code program.
Gearbox has stated their inspiration behind these new heads and skins were the cosplayers that attend their panels at big conferences. They then imagined the Borderlands 2 characters cosplaying the characters from The Pre-Sequel.
The release dates for the separate SHiFT codes are as follows:
It is likely that this will be the last update Borderlands 2 sees; with the upcoming release of The Pre-Sequel, plus the recent announcement of Gearbox’s newest game, Battleborn. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released on October 14th.
My Opinion:
I have over 200 hours in Borderlands 2 and these new heads and skins have given me a good reason to revisit Pandora one more time before jumping to the moon this Fall. I love all of the support Borderlands 2 has received since launching almost two years ago and hope to see just as much support for The Pre-Sequel.
