Team Ninja has announced a release date and some new details for Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate’s upcoming DLC character, Nyotengu.

According to a tweet from Team Ninja, the character will be available for download on September 2nd for both 360 and PS3 in North America. In Europe, 360 users will also get the DLC on September 2nd, but PS3 owners will have to wait an extra day. The reasoning behind this minor delay was not given.

A character bio for Nyotengu has also been added to the Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate website. The biography states that she has “the ability to fly and attack from midair” using the “Tengu-do” fighting style. This style was wielded by the character Bankotsubo (aka Tengu) in past games, hinting that their movesets may be similar.

My Opinion:

If you’ve read my entries for The Geekend Update, you’ll know I’m a big fan of this game. I’m always happy to see the roster grow and, as someone who mained Bankotsubo/Tengu in past DoA games, I’m excited for another Tengu-do user. Can’t wait to try out this new character!
