The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Gets A PlayStation 4 Trailer

The Astronauts released information regarding their upcoming title, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The Astronauts are an eight person team which includes a few members from People Can Fly, which made Painkiller and Bulletstorm. Their new game is a first-person exploration game on which you will solve a town’s mysteries and the vanishing of a little boy.

This is a pure murder mystery and there will be no combat of any kind. You’ll explore the world and find clues into the disappearance of Ethan Carter. You can complete the game at your own pace, and they did say there will be a few scary moments in the game. For the most part, the game’s uneasiness will make you scared of what is coming or not coming.  The Astronauts have taken inspiration from writers like Algernon Blackwood, Stefan Grabinski, and H. P. Lovecraft. Much like their writing, the game can be weird by using the spirits to look into a murdered victim as the victim’s final moment plays out.

The Astronauts have said that The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is not a puzzle game, but there will be a few puzzles in the game as you solve the town’s darkest secret.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter will release on September 26th for PC, and later at an unknown release date for PlayStation 4.

My Opinion:

I would like to play this game. The game looks gorgeous and it seems to have an unsettling uneasiness that most horror games lack. I’ve got high hopes for this one.
