Kojima Still Toying with Metal Gear Solid Remake Idea

Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear Solid series, said last week that he was still interested in creating a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid game while answering a question on his Twitch channel.

Kojima said, “I’m not too fond of remakes, but I would have to go with MGS1. If it was going to be a remake, I wouldn’t want to make a standard remake, but something similar to what Planet of the Apes is doing: Bringing the best of the past to the present and doing something new.”

Kojima has attempted this before, according to IGN, but those plans had fallen through at that time.

My Opinion:

I keep hoping that this becomes a reality. One of the major flaws of earlier 3D games like MGS is that the visuals do not hold up as well as other aspects of the game twenty years later. A total visual overhaul of the game for the twentieth anniversary would be a great way to give younger gamers a proper introduction to the Metal Gear Solid Universe.
