Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is Confirmed

Last week, we reported a supposed leak for a sequel to Resident Evil: Revelations.  This news is no longer a rumor, and has been confirmed by Capcom at Sony’s pre-TGS PlayStation press conference in Japan.

The sequel to the 3DS hit (which was later ported to Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC) will be released in 2015, and has been confirmed for release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC.  The rumor was circulating because Walmart released an Xbox 360 box art image on their website.  At the time, Capcom had neither denied nor confirmed the existence of Resident Evil: Revelations 2.

Resident Evil: Revelations received higher praise for its original Nintendo 3DS creation over its higher definition ports to consoles and PC.  Even with the success of Resident Evil: Revelations on the 3DS, it seems that Nintendo won’t be getting the sequel for either of their consoles.

We cannot confirm the plot for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 as of yet, but Capcom did leave us with a cryptic concept teaser.  Stay tuned on MONG for future updates for Resident Evil: Revelations 2.

My Opinion:

I am quite disappointed that Nintendo left out of this celebration.  I was really hoping to see a sequel for the Nintendo 3DS at least.  I’m not too happy about this, Capcom…
