Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS was patched to v1.0.1 on Friday, adding a new “Conquest” feature to the game’s online mode.
The details come from Siliconera, who translated the patch notes. Occasionally, when playing online in “With Anyone” mode, a “Conquest Battle” will be triggered. If you win, you’ll gain points for your character on the Conquest chart, seen below:
At any time, there are three characters on the Conquest chart, and you can view the current standings whenever you like from the online menu. At the end of the Conquest period, the character with the most points will be declared the winner, and anyone who won points for the character will be rewarded with Gold or customization items. The first Conquest begins on September 15th, though the length of each Conquest period is unspecified.
My Opinion:
At this point, it’s difficult to make me even more excited for this game than I already am. That said, this sounds like a lot of fun! Not only does this lend a little more weight to the outcome of individual battles, but it also encourages people to play online and to become proficient with many different characters.
