Next Hearthstone Expansion To Have Over A 100 New Cards
With Hearthstones first add-on Curse of Naxxaramas released and doing well, the team at Blizzard is now focusing on the future of the successful card game. While the Curse of Naxxaramas focused on a solo experience over the past summer, the next expansion will bring new strategies, cards, and a common theme to more than 20 million players who play Hearthstone.
Hearthstones production director Jason Chayes offered some early details regards to the games future.
“One of the things that we spend a lot of time talking about is pacing,” said Chayes. “Not just the pacing of the game as it is, but pacing of the rollout of new content. We really want to make sure the pacing is great not just for seasoned Hearthstone players but for new players coming into the game too.
“We really want to pay attention to how that is for the entirety of the player base. Does that feel like the right amount of content? Is it too little? Is it too much? We feel like this is a good starting point.”
Jason Chayes also stated that he “could imagine a future where we do a combination of [single-player] adventures like Naxxramas and expansions kind of intermixed to have different sorts of experiences going out over the course of a year.”
At the moment there is no time frame for the next major content update. Check out MONG’s review here for Curse of Naxxaramas and Hearthstone. Hearthstone and it’s add-on Curse of Naxxaramas is currently available PC and iPad.
Hearthstone and its add-on Curse of Naxxaramas are great games. With the popularity of Magic: The Gathering there was no doubt this title wouldn’t do well. Blizzard would be silly not to make more and continue this game with add-ons or expansions. Love this game. Keep it coming.
