Blizzard Announces New Franchise

“It’s nearer than you think” claims Chris Metzen.  For the first time in 17 years, Blizzard announced a new franchise today: Overwatch is a team-based action shooter that is set on Earth 60 yearsin the future.

It was advertised as an approachable game for everyone. The game will have a wide variety of characters, ranging from mercenaries, scientists, and adventurers that battle it out in an arena. The game is playable at Blizzcon right now with 12 heros to play.

Overwatch is claimed to be a reworked version of Blizzard’s Titan project, the MMO that was canceled mid-2013.

Overwatch is going to be available in 2015.  Visit playoverwatch.com to sign up for it.

My Opinion:

Sure I’ll take it.  Overwatch looked great and a lot of fun!  Watching Blizzcon’s opening ceremony and seeing Metzen getting excited, I had a feeling we were in for something new and spectacular.  Overwatch looked fantastic.  The cinematic that was played just screamed awesome.  I was only excepting a few classes to show up in the gameplay trailer but there was tons of them.  Being a fan of Blizzard, I am very excited to see where this title goes.
