It’s been a little over three years since a home console Kirby game, but fans of the pink, rotund wonder can expect a new title soon.
News comes by way of this week’s Nintendo Direct, which highlighted Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. The game which was announced at Nintendo’s E3 Digital Event is planned for a February 2015 release.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is the direct successor of Kirby Canvas Curse on the Nintendo DS. Like its predecessor, Kirby is controlled through drawing lines with the touchscreen on the GamePad instead of through standard controls.
Additionally, multiplayer and amiibo support was announced. For the full details, check the Nintendo Direct below:
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is a Wii U exclusive — look forward to the February release of this game!
My Opinion:
This is awesome! So often, Nintendo is so focused on the “next game” that fans have no clue what is coming in the future. To think that Nintendo will have some solid first party Wii U lineups already planned for 2015 is comforting.

Cannot wait for this! Never played Canvas Curse. This is my chance to right my wrongs!

Canvas Curse remains, to this day, my favorite Kirby game with the exception of Kirby’s Air Ride
