PlayStation brings holiday cheer in its second week of their PSN Holiday Sale, which adds a bevy of great titles.
You can check out the full list below and as per usual, PlayStation Plus members get deeper discounts. This week’s sales are only available until the store updates next Tuesday, so do not slack off, hurry and buy the titles that catch your eye.
My Opinion:
There’s quite a few titles I am interested in this week. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate was a game that had good buzz leading up to its release. It has a cool, 2.5D aesthetic akin to games like Metroid and Shadow Complex. It didn’t get good reviews but for $10, it might be worth checking out.
Two indie titles from the list that catch my eye are Entwined and Octodad: Dadliest Catch. Entwined is a Journey-like game that was announced and released at E3 2014 this year. The nature of how it was released seemingly worked against it and it didn’t get much media attention. I’m still intrigued, especially at a $4.99 price point. Octodad is a silly, slapstick action adventure game where you control an octopus pretending to be a father. I hear it’s absolutely hysterical trying to control the character. That’s available for $7.49.
One recommendation I would give is to check out the World War I based game, Valiant Hearts. It’s a great little title that utilizes the UbiArt Framework engine and tells a very emotional tale set during a pretty horrific war. I got lost trying to find all the collectibles but now that I’m officially done with The Evil Within, I’m going to restart Hearts to experience the story without distraction. It’s on sale for $7.49.
Note: All prices listed are those offered to PlayStation Plus members.
