The creator of DayZ, Dean Hall, has started a new studio in his native country of New Zealand.

Revealed in a public call for developers on Twitter, the new studio is to be called RocketWerkz.

Hall has expressed hopes that the studio will become something like “Valve in the South Pacific.”

Meanwhile DayZ standalone, Dean Hall’s current game in development, aims for a final release sometime in 2016.

My Opinion:

Given the popularity of DayZ, I have no doubt Hall will be able to find plenty of developers willing to work for RocketWerks. I look forward to seeing what the studio can offer players in the future.
