In the latest trailer for Mortal Kombat X, father and daughter take center stage.  Jackson Briggs (a.k.a Jax) and his daughter, Jacqueline Briggs, are spotlighted as they deliver serious bone-breaking beatdowns on their opponents.  While Jax sports a somewhat different look from previous games in the series, his trademark bionic arms remain intact.  In the case of Jacqueline the apple, or the ass-kicking gene, doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Jacqueline Briggs or Jacqui for short, was first introduced in the Mortal Kombat X comic book series.  She is a part of the new generation of fighters to the game and is good friends with fellow newcomer Cassie Cage.  Jacqui wields mechanical gauntlets on both arms, giving her a similar look and power to dear ol’ dad.  The sheer amount of fisticuffs delivered from body blows to flying uppercuts from the duo is fantastic.  Watch the trailer below to see what quality father-daughter time looks like in the Mortal Kombat universe.

My Opinion:  

I think NetherRealm Studios has done a great job in building up anticipation for the latest game in the series.  Releasing these trailers and the Kombat Casts they have been doing, just ensures the game is always in the news leading up to its release.  I can’t wait in a couple weeks time to finally get the game and try out all the new characters for myself.
