Gangsters And Zombies Collide In Guns, Gore & Cannoli

What happens when you combine Prohibition Era gangsters and the walking dead?  You get Guns, Gore, & Cannoli from developer Crazy Monkey StudiosLaunching April 30th on the PC and Mac, Guns, Gore, & Cannoli takes inspiration from 80’s side-scrolling shooters and transports gamers to the Roaring Twenties.  Players control Vinnie Cannoli in Thugtown as he searches for a missing goodfella.  Featuring beautiful hand-drawn 2D graphics, the action is intense as Vinnie mows down anyone living or undead who stands in his way. The game supports 4-player local co-op for friends to get in on the fun.

While computer gamers will get first crack at the action, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U versions of the game are planned for release later this year.  Don’t be a wiseguy and watch the trailer below.

My Opinion:

Growing up I was always a fan of side scrolling shooters like Contra or Metal Slug.  Guns, Gore, & Cannoli looks like it will do a good job in carrying on that tradition.  The artwork is gorgeous and choice of setting is unique.  It doesn’t take itself seriously and there is a lot of potential humor to pull from gangster tropes.
