Following suit with smartphone companies, Sony will be releasing a PlayStation watch of their own next month.
Manufactured by Modified Watches, the custom designed PlayStation watch is adorned with all the PlayStation controller symbols and will be able to give you the time, and function as well as any other watch… Any regular watch, that is.
Different from Apple and Samsung’s watches, the PlayStation watch will serve as a stylish watch for the sole-purpose of telling time and offering style for the PlayStation fan wearing it. Additionally, the watch is made with a water resistant material that can last up to 100 feet underwater.
Listed at $45, the watch is currently available for pre-order and is estimated to be shipped out May 19th.
My Opinion:
My first inclination when finding out about this watch was to respond, “Ugh, not ANOTHER stupid smartwatch!” However, after reading more about it I was pleasantly surprised to find out that PlayStation actually wanted to sell an actual watch with the singular purpose of giving time. Good to know that people still appreciate the simpler things in life! I can’t justify paying $45 for a watch in general, but it’s definitely a great watch for PlayStation gamers (especially ones that plan on swimming).

So it’s a PS themed…watch. I GUESS you can call that “following suit” with smartphone companies.
