PlayStation, Coming To A Theater Near You!

E3 is upon us, and with it Sony is planning to show off PlayStation in a big way.

On June 15th at 6pm PT, Sony will broadcast their E3 press conference around the United States in select theaters, and three cities in Canada.

Geoff Keighley announced on the PlayStation Blog that the screenings will be free and mystery gift bags will be handed out to the lucky attendees. Keighley will also be hosting a 30-minute in-theater post show, which will have extensive interviews with developers and extended gameplay videos for all of E3’s wonderful games. The free tickets and theater locations will become available Wednesday, May 27th at 9am PT only at  playstation.com/e3experience. 80% of the theater space is reserved from tickets redeemed online. The extra 20% is reserved for patrons that show up at the theater, these are on a first come first serve basis.

Now if you live no where near any of the theaters or you just couldn’t get a ticket, you’re in luck! The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 have a Live Events viewer app on their respective consoles. E3 kicks off Sunday, June 14th at 7pm PT with Bethesda’s first E3 press conference ever.

My Opinion:

I finally get to eat Twizzlers and stale popcorn while I watch Sony unveil its future. I see no downside to this. Knowing my luck, it won’t be near me and I’ll be watching it on my PS4. I always have problems streaming the press conferences, hopefully The Live Events viewer app is as smooth as the Xbox E3 viewer has been.
