Geekend Update 10/30/15

Weekends are meant strictly for gaming and all things fun; at least that’s what we think. Here is where you can find out all of our crazy plans for the weekend!

Jordan Loeffler, Editor in Chief: Likely surprising no one, I will be playing The Phantom Pain this weekend. Who knows, though! If you catch me online, you may be able to wrangle me into Metal Gear Online or even some classic The Last of Us Remastered multiplayer. I’ve been thinking about the latter a lot lately…

Harry Loizides, Executive Editor: Splatfest in Splatoon this weekend will allow me to get back into the ink! I still have to decide which side to choose….regardless, I hope to see you guys there!

Jesse Webster, Senior WriterAs I wait for Fallout 4, I’ve been playing The Last of Us. I doubt it, but I might play that in Hard Difficulty. I don’t know if it’s because of games like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, but I’ve been playing some games on a difficulty higher than Normal, and I only play games on hard mode on games I think deserves it.

Aaron Dobbe, Associate WriterSuper Mario Maker! *audience applauds* Going to continue trying to top my personal best in 100 Mario Challenge Expert (75 lives remaining, no skips). I’ve been struck by nostalgia recently, and so if time permits, I’d like to try playing some good ol’ Stepmania.

Darius Purse, Associate Writer:  With the NBA regular season kicking off this past week, I’ve been feeling like playing some NBA 2K15.

Landon Luthi, Associate WriterHalloween is the greatest time of the year to play video games until your eyes rot out of your head. In celebration of the greatest pagan holiday ever invented, I am going to force the Mrs. and others to sit through P.T. (Silent Hills demo). I will finished the weekend off with a full day of The Evil Within. I saved both of these games just for this year’s Halloween. Oh, I also forgot to mention Super Mario Maker. I still can’t get enough of that one.

How did YOU spend your Halloween weekend?
