Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix Anticipation

Growing up I had the chance to play the original Kingdom Hearts on the PlayStation 2 at a friend’s house.  I was completely blown away by it.  I didn’t really know a whole lot about the Final Fantasy characters in the game, but I understood that Final Fantasy was an extremely popular series.  I was just a kid so the fact that the protagonist was also a kid really appealed to me.  Then when you add in a whole bunch of Disney characters from movies I loved, it was a perfect match for me.

The original Kingdom Hearts was the only game I was ever able to play though.  Kingdom Hearts 2 came out at a time I no longer had my PlayStation 2 and the rest of the series came out on an assortment of handheld consoles that I never had or didn’t at the time of release.  This really sucked because I knew how much fun I had with the first game.  So when Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix was announced for PlayStation 3, I was STOKED!  Finally I would get a chance to not only replay one of my favorite video games of all time, but I would get a chance to play the next two games chronologically.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix Trailer

I recently finished up 1.5 Remix.  Man! I was really missing out on some crazy plot points in the series!  I had no idea about the “Organization”, the “Nobodies”, or any of the other new aspects that Re:Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days added to the story!  I am so glad Square Enix decided to make this remastered compilation.

The only negative (and it really isn’t a negative) affect this game has had on me is that now I can’t wait to play the rest of the games in the series!  Even though it was expected, it wasn’t announced until recently that Square Enix would be remastering the next three games in the series as part of the HD 2.5 Remix compilation.  Now, with it being announced, I no longer have to feel anxious because I know in due time it will be playable on my PS3.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix will include Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix in HD.  It will also include the HD remastered cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded just like 1.5 Remix did for 358/2 Days.  It will all be trophy supported and is scheduled for release worldwide later this year.  We are one step closer to Kingdom Hearts III being released, and this will be one more helpful step to get Kingdom Hearts fans like myself caught up and ready to go!
