Shuhei Yoshida revealed the release date and a new trailer for DRIVECLUB yesterday on the PlayStation Blog.
After it had originally been planned as a launch day release on the PlayStation 4, and a free title for PlayStation Plus users, DRIVECLUB will now be released on October 7, 2014.
Yoshida explained the delay with, “The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way. What DRIVECLUB offers has not been previously achieved in this category, and, because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you’re waiting for.”
Although I am not a racing fan, the possibilities of DRIVECLUB appealed to me more than most other games in the genre. As a fan of games, it is nice to see a release date set after many people thought that the game might be cancelled. However, I probably will not be participating in many races.
