Telltale Games released new information about the upcoming Tales from the Borderlands, including a release window and relations with the other Borderlands games.

In a press release, Telltale released screenshots of their collaboration with Gearbox expanding the world of Pandora. Taking place after the events of Borderlands 2, TftB follows the two playable characters: Rhys, a low-level data miner inside Hyperion with great ambitions, and Fiona, a traditional con artist trying to pull off the job of a lifetime. Even though these characters are not Vault Hunters, they will encounter some along the way, including Zer0 from Borderlands 2.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Producer Adam Sarasohn stated that the world of Borderlands is huge and “[Telltale has] built a world that rivals Star Wars in its richness. That sounds like crazy hyperbole, but the details, the characters, and the history are all there.” He goes on to warn that those who enjoy Borderlands for the shooting will be disappointed, but those who are interested in the story and other Telltale games like The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead will enjoy Tales from the Borderlands. Also, Sarasohn mentions that, “Handsome Jack is gone. Or is he? You might have seen the trailer we put out a while back.”
Other miscellaneous details were also released, saying that TftB will feature loot, which can carry over into future Borderlands games. The game will cost $4.99 per episode, but players will be able to save some cash with the season pass.
Tales from the Borderlands is set to release later this summer.
My Opinion:
This is exciting news. I was never the biggest fan of the first person shooter, but the universe and world of Pandora always fascinated me. With this game delving into the lore and the hint that Handsome Jack (who is my 2nd favorite villain in a video game) could be back is exciting. I just hope that Telltale will not screw this up, especially when they are working on The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones at the same time. This will be interesting to see, and I know that I will be picking it up when it debuts this summer.
