The Division Delayed Until 2015

The unfortunate (but expected) news has finally arrived: Tom Clancey’s The Division has officially been delayed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC until 2015.

The Division was originally announced at E3 2013. Ubisoft released this awesome gameplay trailer that touted many cool features that only a “next-gen” console could do, as well as showed off some very pretty graphics.

Needless to say, fan excitement was through the roof after their gameplay reel.  But alas, little was released about the game following E3.  Today the dev team released the following on their official blog, “Working on The Division is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us at Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment. We are creating something we are really proud of and we don’t want to compromise on quality. We are going to release the game when it’s ready.”

Do not fret! There will be new information about The Division coming at E3 this year!  The dev team confirmed this by saying, “The production is getting stronger every day and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to at this year’s E3.”

My Opinion:

Like I said, this is unfortunate but expected.  There were rumblings about a possible delay the past several months since we have seen very little about the game.  For as ambitious as The Division looks like it will be when it is finally released, I am completely okay with the developers taking their time to make sure they get it right.  This game looks awesome and I want it to actually live up to the hype.
