Earlier today Ubisoft announced the fourth title in their series. Far Cry 4, will be released November 18th in the US and November 20th for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).  Far Cry 4 is being developed by a plethora of different Ubisoft studios, including Montreal, Toronto, Shanghai, and Kiev, as well as Red Storm Entertainment.

In this iteration of the series, the player finds himself in Kyrat, an area in the Himalayan Mountains under the rule of a tyrannical king.  Like previous titles, the player will have a vast amount of weapons and vehicles at his disposal to wreak havoc and carve their own adventure out of the open-world landscape.

Far Cry 4 will be available for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.  Ubisoft states that anyone who pre-orders the game will receive a free “Limited Edition” upgrade which includes a series of three single player missions called Hurk’s Redemption.  These missions will feature Hurk and his harpoon gun “The Impaler” from Farcry 3’s DLC.

My Opinion

Sounds good to me.  Far Cry 3 was a fun game, and the level building added some fun for people who had already beaten it.  I only ask that Ubisoft brings back couch co-op for the custom built levels, as that was sorely missed in Far Cry 3.
