This week’s Indie Spotlight is all about Shards Online, a Citadel Studios game currently being funded through Kickstarter. There are a number of reasons why I am excited about this game, but I think the biggest reason is that it is described (on their Kickstarter page) as “heavily inspired by games like Ultima Online.” This was enough for me to back the game, as I have been a rabid UO fan since 1997.

Ubisoft Announces Far Cry 4
Earlier today Ubisoft announced the fourth title in their series. Far Cry 4, will be released November 18th in the US and November 20th for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Far Cry 4 is being developed by a plethora of different Ubisoft studios, including Montreal, Toronto, Shanghai, and Kiev, as well as Red Storm Entertainment. Indie Game Spotlight: Cube World
Another week has gone by, and that means it’s time for MONG’s Monday Indie Spotlight. This week we talk about a game called Cube World, created by Picroma. Picroma is a super small studio in Germany run by a man named Wollay, and his wife Sarah. Cube World is a voxel-based sandbox adventure-RPG that has been in open alpha since July 2013 that lets you choose from 8 playable races and 4 playable classes. It contains all the usual aspects of a sandbox MMO style, including gathering materials, crafting, PvP, dungeon crawling, and server based multiplayer. Why I will not be purchasing Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls
As a life-long Blizzard fan since the days of The Lost Vikings and Rock and Roll Racing to Diablo and World of Warcraft, I couldn’t have been more excited to play Diablo 3. I waited and watched previews and was giddy as a school girl hearing rumors of large-scale PvP and arena combat. I was more than ready to spend hours theory-crafting certain character builds, without even playing the game, so that I could have the most powerful hero in Sanctuary. I had seen the scope of World of Warcraft, and Diablo 3 was promised to be as big or bigger, with open-world elements.
